Frank Pindiak named new Executive Director of St. Catherine's Center for Children

Albany, NY—The Board of Directors of St. Catherine’s Center for Children has announced the selection of Frank Pindiak, Jr. as the agency’s new Executive Director. Pindiak, who has three decades of experience in the field of human services, has served as St. Catherine’s Interim Executive Director since mid-July.

“Frank Pindiak is the unanimous choice of our board of directors to become St. Catherine’s next Executive Director,” said James Carr, president of the board and head of the search committee that interviewed candidates.  “Owing to his range of experience in the wide array of programs that St. Catherine’s offers, Frank is the perfect candidate to lead the agency into the future. He possesses deep knowledge and expertise in program areas critical to our work, including homeless services, residential and foster care, and special education. The Board is confident in his ability to navigate the challenges that lie ahead.”

Pindiak holds a degree in Criminal Justice from the Rochester Institute of Technology and a Master’s in Public Administration from the State University of New York at Brockport. He has worked at St. Catherine’s since 1988, serving as a residential child care coordinator, director of homeless programs, and utilization and compliance manager. He has overseen St. Catherine’s continuous quality improvement program since 2000, and since 2011 has served as the agency’s Deputy Executive Director for Continuous Quality Improvement and Strategic Planning.

"I cannot think of a greater honor than to be named Executive Director of St. Catherine’s Center for Children,” said Pindiak.  “St. Catherine’s has a rich tradition of meeting the human service needs of a diverse population throughout the Capital Region and beyond. I’ve dedicated many years of own professional life to that cause, and I am profoundly grateful to be offered the opportunity to continue that work as head of the agency. We face many challenges in our field, but I am excited about the prospect of leading St. Catherine’s and its staff.”

Pindiak succeeds William T. Gettman, Jr., who served as Executive Director of St. Catherine’s for five years until recently being named Chief Executive Officer of Northern Rivers Family of Services.
